I have recently been in correspondence with a few people related to employment in the Pensacola area. I was wondering, what neighborhood's would you guy's advise? Primary concerns would be: no flood zone, low crime rate, ease of access to the downtown area. I would be probably be looking for a newer construction brick 3/2/1 or 2 home. Thanks in advance.

Stick to the Northeast part of town. Anything from 9 mile and Chemstrand over toward UWF. Also, Summit, Langley and Cordova area are great. There is also a good subdivision off Blue Angel HWY (Springfield) that is really nice. You might want to check the schools in that area though.
