I'll be staying in Pensacola early next month (2 adults, 2 children). We are looking to stay waterfront, but cheap. (Lodging is not all that important since we'll likely be spending most of our time outside -- just needs to be clean, but we do want to stay on the water). So far, I've found the beachfront Days Inn which looks fine, but I'm wondering if there are any other places on the water that are comparable in price. Any well-kept secrets someone would be willing to let me in on? Thanks!

What price are you paying and for how many days? You might do better with a condo.

Just for a long weekend (3 nights). I think the Days Inn was just over $100.00 a night. Trying to keep it no more than that.

Although a condo will probably be a little more expensive, it would be much more comfortable. I know that a lot of the condos are suffering from a lack of guests. You might try calling some of the places on VRBO.com and see if they'll make you a deal. Emerald Isle would be a good option. But, as far as hotels, that's a good price for Days Inn and I'm sure it'll be fine. It's in a good location on the beach where you can walk to shops and restaurants. It's sort of wedged in between high rises. There really are no well-kept secrets for any other hotel on the beach.

Check out perdidochamber.com! Perdido Key is just outside of Pensacola and the rates are better. If you book in advance, you also get a 5% discount which pretty much covers all your taxes. Hope this helps! Good luck!
