I'm looking for information on a police officer by the name Charles R. Ettner. Any info would be great.

IF Charles R. Ettner was a circa 1930s police officer, then most likely, he would have been around 20 years of age. That's only as a guess. If that is true, then he would have been born around 1910.

A good place to start if you have not already done so, is to look on Free People Search by ZabaSearch! with the many, many Ettner family members listed on that web site.

In particular, there are a number of those family members around Gurnee, IL - - Lincolnshire, IL - - and Marengo, IL. But in reality, they are also listed all over the U.S.

Through this method, perhaps you will locate a long lost family member who knows something about your missing person.

Here is what I found through Ancestry.com:

On the 1930 census there is a listing for a Walter F Ettner who is a policeman and has a son named Charles R Ettner.

Below is the information give about the family:
Address: 320 State Streeet, Marengo Township, County McHenry, Illinois
Head: Watler F Ettner age 45, age when married: 25, born Illinnois
Wife: Emema L age 42, age when married: 22 born Illinois
Son: Charles R Ettner age: 10 born Illinois
both Walter and Emema's parents are all listed as born in Germany.

One interest item is that Charles is listed as "son" - with the parenthesis around the word son. It is the only place on the page where the enumerator has done this.

There are also a couple of public records with address' in Boulder Colorado for a Charles R Ettner born in 1919. There is a Sylvia Ettner born 1915 listed as living at the same address'.

One SS Death Record for a Charles R Ettner born Jun 27, 1919. Death May 10, 1999 - boulder, Colorado. Civil (civil service?) Ohio
