Hello all, I'm looking for my half sister from my father.

When I was in middle school my mother dropped a bomb shell on me one day that my biological father had a daughter before he met my mother and had me. I've been looking for her ever since, I am 21 years old now and have run out of ways to find her.

I don't want anything from her, I just want to know her. She doesn't have to communicate with me, I just want to know that she's happy and has a nice life because I know our father wasn't the greatest person.

These are the things I know about my father:
-His Name is Jody Harvey
-My father was born July 21 1955 in Lakeview, Oregon or maybe Marysville, California.
-My father graduated from Marysville High School in California in 1974.
-He has 5 siblings (Dale Harvey, Virgil Harvey, Chuck Harvey, Micheal Harvey, Georgene Worden)
-His parents are named James and Sylvia
-He had my brother Wyatt in 1995 and had me in 1998
-He commited suicide on August 1 2000

Things I know about my sister:
-She was born sometime in the late 70s or some time in the 80s
-Her name might be Julie or Julia
-She might have a half brother named Rob, Robbie, Robert
-Her mother might be named Terri or Terry
-She was most likely born in California, maybe in the Yuba City area

I've tried to include some photos of my father for you to look at. If for some reason any of you could help me I would be very grateful.

Ancestry.com has the California Birth Index.
Check if your local public library offers free access to Ancestry.com on their computers.

You can search the California Birth Index using the various info that you have.
You may have to search with various spellings, i.e. Julie, Julia, etc.
You can search up to a ten year time period at a time.
You can limit your search by county. Yuba City is in Sutter County.

You might also want to do DNA testing. You may have to test with several different companies. Even if your half-sister has not done DNA, you may find DNA matches of cousins who know your half-sister.

You should take a DNA test. She might be looking for you too.

Then again she might.

Above you have some speculative details. Have you had further conversations with the source of all of those possible names?

-A DNA test is on the list of stuff to do, just gotta find the right time where I have extra money to spend or it goes on sell.

-I've used Ancestry and tried looking through birth certificates, but I couldn't find anything. I did find that divorce thing on Ancestry a while back when I still had it.

-As for the person that gave me names I found her through Ancestry from mutual family members on his side. That was the only information she could give me, my father apparently didn't have much contact with his family and they didn't know a lot about his life. The lady that told me only had a few names and she made sure to tell me she wasn't sure if those were actually their names because it had been such a long time. Other than that she didn't seem to want to have contact with me so I stopped communication.
