Ok, cash or checks for those people.

But for the REST of us...if we just use common sense, we should be fine with plastic.

i personally think we should all go back to bartering.

"If anyone has an I-pad II on them, I'll give you two pairs of levi jeans, a ceiling fan, and a white maltese in exchange. We'll pay the sales tax with rolls and rolls of toilet paper."

I saw my parents using checks quite a bit, but only reason I jumped onto the debit card wagon was due to getting my first checking account when those were commonplace(18 in 2001, first acct in '02).

If some are used to one system of doing things, nothing wrong with sticking with the old ways.

Apparently, you were in too much of a hurry when you typed that sentence.

I think you should "shill" as well.

Thanks for the spelling course. After 11 years in this country, I still have much to learn.

And honestly, no one EVER checks the signature. Mine is signed and says "see picture ID" but in all the years I've had it I can count on one hand the times that a cashier actually looked on the back. And I thank the ones who do that.
Yeah, I worked retail for 7 years, and I always checked the signature. I had a couple of times that I asked for photo ID because the signatures didn't match and had someone get mad at me and storm out of the store without their purchase. I assume the cards were stolen or they were trying to use mom and dad's card, or something. And I got thanked for checking ID when the card told me to on many occasions. The ones that got me were when people signed the card differently than they signed the receipt and then got huffy when I asked for ID (but then it turned out they were legit)...do those people not realize I was attempting to protect their credit? Hey buddy, I'm doing you a favor, sign your name the same way every time, and don't get snippy with me.
