Never mind my previous post. I hadn't read this one yet.

If it already shows you paid it after it was charged off, there really isn't anything you can do to change it. When you apply for a mortgage, you are probably going to have to explain that.

Have you spoken with a mortgage person about your credit record and how it might affect them granting you a mortgage? You can discuss these items at that time, and then you'll know whether an approval is possible or what you have to do/how long you have to wait or if your other financial records are strong enough for them to overlook this.

I've registered with Lexington Law Firm to help with this, all to no avail. Now I'm desperate for anything that I can do because I would like to by a house really soon.

Any advice,

thanks in advance.
I would advise you to get a "secured" credit card and use it regularly and responsibily. This will give you a track record of responsible credit use and raise your credit score.

I had a late payment with Macys once. One call and they removed the record from their files and notified all three agencies.
It took a couple of months to show up in my credit history, the score went up in 52 points.
Late payments affect your credit history for 7 years, so you'd better call them.
