There is no formula for determining whether or not someone is rich (and everybody's definition of "rich" is different)
Several years ago there were many people that I knew through business that I assumed had far more money than I did because they lived in more impressive homes which cost many hundreds of thousands more than mine. Their decor was done by professional designers whereas mine is nice but comfortable. They had expensive and impressive cars, while I drive an SUV and my husband drives a pickup truck. They dressed expensively and the women all wore lots of jewelry. I mostly wear jeans and a pair of earrings is about as much jewelry as I ever wear.
When the construction business went down the tubes so did they. Without the income we all enjoyed for many years they could no longer keep up the payments on their houses and cars, and one by one they each went into foreclosure. Apparently they all were not as rich as I thought they were. I, on the other hand, am doing okay because I didn't owe any money on our house and cars. You don't know when the bad times are going to hit, but when they do it is good to be prepared and to not owe anything on the things you would like to keep.
They all may have been more impressive back then, but I would rather be financially secure than impressive!
Oh, I wasn't trying to use it that way...although only 2 of my profiled people were gay (and neither of them fit the gay stereotype in any way, fyi, though I definitely do, ).
I think the idea of good teeth being a sign of wealth as funny. To me it's a sign of good genes. Daddy had perfect teeth, and would have had them his whole life, but for WW2 and not being able to take care of them while in the trenches.

And he grew up poor.
I have the worst genetics for teeth. Everyone of my molars has deep crevasses where a dentist's tools got stuck. Dentists told me each time, that it was not really cavities, but deep crevasses in my molars.
Since I was career Navy, they were each drilled out and packed with mercury amalgam. Twice every year my teeth were cleaned and brought up to 'perfect'.
^ Agreed. Not going to a dentist regularly is just stupidity. Choosing not to be stupid is not a sign of being rich. It's just a sign of being smart.
