I think it was probably on a horse race...I think I hit the wrong thing on the machine and ended up placing a $17 bet. It was an exacta with all the horses, so I still won, but I don't think it was close to that $17. LOL

When I'm at the track, I only bet 10cent supers. Costs me about $20 a night unless there are lots of races with lots of horses in them. I only bet "real bets" on the bigger races.

And for the casino? Maybe $1. I'm scared of those addictive machines, so I try to keep my spins way way low. Don't win a whole lot, but I don't care. A $10 win is a lot to me.

Send me some luck (for those of you who are players), goin' to the casino tonight!

To me, gambling is fun and gives you an adrenaline rush that's hard to duplicate. Granted, like any vice, some people get themselves in trouble with it. But, if you're smart about it and are gambling with money that might otherwise be used on some other form of entertainment, essentially money you can afford and don't care if you lose (not your rent, kids college money or 401K), then it's a good outlet for excitement.

(I'm really itching to go play some BJ right now, but there's not casinos anywhere near where I live!)
I feel the same. I frequent casino's because I've never paid for a room or a drink in a casino the past 4 years. I'm not a big gambler, there's a way to get this stuff free with very little risk. That's for another forum/thread though. I don't go out drinking, I don't party or club so casino's are one of my many forms of entertainment. Most of my other hobbies are free. I 'll go to casino's here and there and if I blow $200-$300 I could care less and the entertainment is worth it to me. I max my Roth, have a pension, and save additional money for retirement.

Fortunately for me I live within 50 miles from 10 different local casino's, im close to Reno and Tahoe and Vegas is a short flight. I make 10-12 trips a year to Caesars properties.

I lost $150 in 10 hands on a $15 Blackjack table. Dealer didn't bust a single time. Haven't sat down at a Blackjack table since.
I enjoy Texas Hold'em. The largest amount of money I've ever had in a pot at once was $250. I had AA, he had KK. All of the money was in the pot pre-flop. The pot was close to $600. Felt bad for that guy. It was his very first hand at the table and he had all of his chips in the pot only to run into pocket Aces. I bought a lot of drinks at the bar later that night.
