Many smaller banks charge for online banking. Key Bank has nothing good to offer.

BOA doesn't refund ATM surcharge fees and .2% interest on a savings account is hardly great. I think you need to shop around.

Well i up until last July had an account with a local credit union and found the lack of its own ATMs frustrating with a $2 fee a transaction. Then i got a job with Wachovia and took advantage of their top checking account package that they offered employees. So far I've had no personal complaints. I do have to do things with accounts i dont personally agree with, but i got to follow the rules. For every bad story i see with Wachovia i hear twice as many with bank of america. The scary thing is that if Wachovia is #1 and BofA is number #2 among national banks then the rest must be terrible.

I stay away from the big national banks and utilize my local credit unions.

There's a Chase inside my supermarket which would make it very convenient but they had so many rules and so many fees all tied up to various balances that I just walked away.

Have banked with Chase, BoA & Wachovia. Never had problems with any of them.
I doubt you'll find a "national" bank though - I would just check out their websites to see where they are at. Unfortunately, think you'll find the one you like the least has more branches. I agree with no WAMU - their not doing too good from what I've heard - a lot of complaints.

I think Check Free provides the services for most major banks and their online banking.
I've used online bill pay with all the above and they all work about the same IMO.

We deal with Wells Fargo for our business and personal accounts and we are really happy. We have a small branch here that we deal with, know all the bankers and they know us. Has a small bank feel to it which is why we like it. I have been very pleased with the online banking.

Both Wachovia and BofA are sharks.I know the majority of people are unhappy with them and do know a thing or two about them.Nothing like keeping cash around you.

i dont know if wamu sucks for loans, but i know for a savings account they have been great. I get a 4.75% interest rate (not a cd) dont get charged for anything and they are open until 6. I also like commerce and have a small balance there and in manhatten they have branches which are open until midnight. However there interest rates are not good.
