How many of you are fans of his books like 'Financial Self Defense'? I got into his books back in the 90's.

Here he is giving some car buying tips:

In my view the only bigger con men out there are Bob Brinker, Robert Kiyosaki, and Tom Brown Jr. So no, I am not a fan of people who deliberately deceive people in order to enrich themselves.

Did you happen to notice this video is 26 years out of date? It was produced in 1990.

Yeah Charles Givens was popular and most active in the 90's. He died in 1998. I assumed most people familiar with Charles Givens would be aware that this was his 90's info.

Do you have examples of his con work? His book 'Financial Self Defense' has gotten high ratings on Amazon from readers.

First a few comments. The world is filled with dreamers, wolves, sheep and the gullible. People like Givens are wolves and count the other three as prey. Frankly people like Brinker, Givens, and Kiyosaki sicken me. That being stated...

Here is a clip from a NY Time article that is a quick summation, notice he was found guilty of fraud:

A California jury in 1996 said Mr. Givens had defrauded 29,000 customers in that state. He was ordered to refund them $14.1 million and to stop misrepresenting the success of his money-making strategies.

''Givens lied about his past,'' said John W. Jeffrey, a lawyer for the plaintiffs. ''The way he made his money was not by using the strategies he sold but rather by selling the strategies themselves.''

It went on and on. He was huckster, shyster, con man and his son was no better.

Here is link that shows that often the apple does not fall far from the tree. His son was a liar too. You know some young men, when they find out their father was a despicable bastard try and work hard and be ethical in their dealings with others and restore honor to their family name. Apparently that trait does not run in the Givens blood line. His son was shyster scum bag too.

The Iowa jury concluded that story is false. Givens' former partner in the music business, as well as the person who tried (and failed) to sell him land for his yacht club, both testified that no million-dollar fortunes existed; nor, for that matter, did a functioning conglomerate or club.

Givens conceded at the trial that "a large part" of his wealth had in fact came from selling get-rich seminars and literature. Tedder says that, as a result of the jury's decision, Givens will now say, "I lost everything I had three times," instead of saying he lost $1 million
