My wife will work in northern Wilmington, DE and I will work in Spring House, PA. After checking out google map, I have several places in mind to live. These options are Exton, West Chester, Malvern. Google map suggests 32 mins drive from my wife's office to West Chester, and 42 mins drive from my future office to West Chester, both routes taking 202 with one heading south and another heading east. My question is whether the google estimated times are roughly accurate? I heard there is heavy traffic along 202. Does that mean it will be impossible for me to go from west Chester to Spring House with around 40 mins? If so, by will it be a better travel by living in Exton since I believe there will be no traffic heading south on 202 for my wife and I may save a few minutes compared to living in west chester? Thank you very much for your input!

Depending on what time you leave, 202N in the AM is usually congested from West Chester until past Route 29 in Malvern (this will only worsen with the upcoming construction).

If I were you, I would look in the Lionville area of Exton. This will allow you to take the PA Turnpike to 309N to Spring House and your wife could take 100S to 202S to DE. That would probably the most equi-distant commute with the least amount of headaches...

Malvern could also be a reasonable option as it would put you past the majority of headaches on 202 but it is pricier than Exton...

Are you thinking of taking 202 from West Chester all the way to Spring House? I can't imagine doing that in rush hour every day. I'd estimate an hour, at least. After King of Prussia, 202 is a two-lane road full of traffic lights. I agree it would be more convenient to take the turnpike from Exton to 309.
