From the Philadelphia area? That would be impossible. It would be hard enough to even live in Reading and have to depend on their transit system.

Bieber Bus is all I'm aware of that runs Philadelphia to Reading.

A late edit: The closest Barta runs to Philadelphia would be Morgantown, still in Berks County, but just off the Turnpike. The furthest north it runs is Hamburg, PA (on the other edge of Berks County...at one point, maybe still, you could take another bus all the way up to Pottsvile from there).

Many, if not almost all, of BARTA's routes have their last ride at 5.30PM, which really makes the system completely useless for commuting. They have a couple (and I really mean a couple) of routes that run every 20 or 30 minutes which can be decent (I imagine) for travel within the city.

It's not possible. The only service that runs between Reading and Philadelphia is Bieber Tourways and they're not meant for commuting. Buses only run a few times a day, are very expensive (about $40 roundtrip) and are very very slow. Last time I tried to use Bieber to get home it took three hours.

You need a car to get to Reading. One day maybe we will have rail service restored... maybe...
