I wonder which project will get done first, the Glassboro Light Rail Line or the Philadlephia Waterfront Line?

The Glassboro line carries more weight then the waterfront and more redevelopments....

As much as I would like for the reading viaduct to be a park. It seems to me that parts of it could be used to expand mass transit, Like its tunnel. We all know how expensive it is to build this kind of infrastructure, it seems wise to try and find a way to make parts of it relevant for for use today.

And connect it to what exactly? It doesn't go from anything to anything else anymore. It was the old viaduct from the Reading mainline to Reading Terminal. The terminal was replaced with Market East Station and the viaduct was replaced with the tunnel. I don't mind the park idea, especially if the neighborhood wants to pay for it than I'd say go for it, it's their decision. Now the City Branch spur which runs into the abandoned Pennsylvania Ave subway I think could be reused. I don't know how you'd tie it into the rest of the system though.

Philly expressed interest in converting the City Branch to LRT connecting the 15 with the future Waterfront line and Broad Street Trolley. Philly also wants the 6 , 60 , 50 , 53 along with 23 & 56 trollies. Now Philly in my opinion should not wait for Septa , and let Private come in and restore and expand the Trolley system.

My only problem with restoring/expanding the trolley system is that trolleys don't really increase speed or efficiency over buses where streets aren't wide enough for dedicated lanes, which is many streets that used to have trolleys. It would just be rail for rail's sake with no service improvement, and possibly worse service.

I think it should be a priority to install a subway or light rail on Roosevelt Boulevard, as the Northeast desperately needs a non-commuter rail connection. That street is 300 feet wide, with local and express separated lanes with buffers, and it was originally meant to have a subway line when it was planned.
Also, it would also be an opportunity to improve the deathtrap that Roosevelt Boulevard, which contains several of the most dangerous intersections in the country, and make it safer to cross and more pedestrian friendly.

But Developers and Generation Y and Gentrification people love trolleys , they spur massive redevelopment as long as they connect to Center City.

There are many nabes with trollys today and no Gen Y folks. I mostly agree with Roto; notsure they are the top priority
