Someone on a comments thread wondered if he was gonna be renting out space at the Please Touch Museum.

Is Philadelphia getting too crowded? City Council president wants fewer apartments and more parking

More complete garbage introduced by Clarke. I think he is starting to run scared, because his life long political "career" is running out of steam as Philadelphia changes. I also find it ironic that he claims Philadelphia is growing too fast or getting too crowded when the city places near last in almost every measurement of growth and development AND the city is still 500k short of its peak population.

What is this, 1960s Houston thought logic??

If anyone cannot read, I can paste the article in another post.
Honestly. What would it take to get Darell Clarke out of office?

I am pretty sure he is the only one on the ballot in the 5th district. Politicians from the 5th district are a plague on this city.

Equipment, materials and workers on-site at the SLS site. Dirt being moved. Seems work may finally be underway. The scaffolding is finally down at the Atlantic Building, to boot.

Wow. A million bucks doesn't get you much these days.

You mean out of his council seat or removed from the council presidency?

First he either has to retire or face a challenger in his district. Given that the demographics are changing in his district(my district) a real challenger may actually emerge some day.

One became mayor. But, fwiw, he was a lawyer.

For those who were so worried about Suburban Station, I walked through the entire concourse area including "hidden" sections at around 9am yesterday and I did not see a single homeless person. Activation of septa key on regional rail means that the classic wooden benches are within the train pay zone only. So it's much harder to loiter.

There's also a new mom and pop eatery, Cherry Cafe.
