Laughing at my own joke. Suburbs were considered safe and away from the ghetto but the storms and hurricanes don't cause problems in the ghetto like they do the suburbs

UPDATE -

The current storm track continues to have an eastern bias that is totally unjustified based on my observations. What I've seen in the past 15-20 minutes is really worrisome, basically the 'longshot' path models are the ones that are coming to fruition. That's a pat which brings full hurricane force winds to Philly, dumps a foot of rain, and then the eye passes over Manhattan, with Brooklyn catching the eastern side of the storm, with the strongest winds. That's what I'm seeing, hope I'm wrong.

Anyone see the Schuylkill yesterday afternoon:

I decided to go the Penns Landing today. Muddier and faster moving than I've ever seen it, but not nearly as dramatic:

Probaly most intersting, when I returned via South Street, I saw two trees down (2nd in background):

I'm assuming they came down today - two days after the storm.

This is so true. I don't live in the ghetto but from my Center City highrise I would never have known we had a "hurricane" while my friends in the suburbs are dealing with power outages, flooding and damaged trees. I know there are a few trees down in Center City but I don't know why. I never saw any wind at all until the "storm" had passed Sunday morning and then it was just a gusty breeze, less then you would expect on a typical fall day.

The block in Center City I live on there are no trees at all wich is why it was foolish for me to buy batteries in the first place-lol

We never lose electric in a storm, trees or not because all the wires are underground. Once in a while a transformer will blow and an entire building will lose power but it isn't weather related.
