If the bars stay open another hour, I really don't care. But then again I don't live next to one so I don't have drunks relieving themselves on my lawn (lol). But I fail to see why if bars stay open longer that makes you "world class". Because you have an extra hour of drunks out and about?

Some people would say, if you really have to ask that question you're probably past the point in life where you'd understand.

Well.... I know I never typed that, especially if you've read my post. I fail to see how 1 more or even two more hours ( in certain districts) would make the city any worse off..

As the city grows I don't see a problem with it. I clearly remember clubs like Aftermidnite & Salsa's All Nite Disco providing lots of dance fun for us back in the days as well as some other after hours spots in the neighborhoods.

If & when the Market East section is completed as well as Philly Live, Avenue of The Arts North & South these changes could be slowly implemented over the next decade.

Visitors coming in on flights at night to hotels near the Convention Center and Univetsity City would enjoy the nightlife before turning in or after conducting business at the Convention Center, etc..

Bars should be open 24 hrs to begin with. The stiff necks in this Socialist Commonwealth will never allow it to happen. Things should just stay the way they are. What is a bloody 1 hr going to do? It will give the drunks more time to get in trouble and the bar employees extra time they do not need.

How about a compromise: 2am Sunday through Thursday; 3am Friday and Saturday? That's what DC does. I think it makes sense.

DC also runs the Metro later on Fridays and Saturday nights, which is a tip that SEPTA should take as well.
