Rite Aid is shutting down a store in the heart of Wayne which has been there for over 40 years. Do we know what will take its place? I would love to see a gourmet restaurant there, perhaps a Thai one. When it opened back around 2007 I really loved Heng's Thai in Newtown Square, but it closed after a very short life. The other Heng's in Springfield is still open, but that's just too far for me to go (I live in Wayne) with friends often, and is in a rough area, not to mention traffic in and around that shopping center is pitiful. There also is a delightful Mexican restaurant in West Chester that I make a special trip to a few times a year, but the area around it is also dumpy. I would be thrilled if the owners chose to open a new site anywhere on Route 30.

Did you really just say that the intersection of Sproul Rd and Baltimore Pike is a rough area? And West Chester is dumpy?

This is a rough area: https://www.google.com/search?q=http...D9%3B766%3B600

Hmmm... well OK it may not be rough but it sure is ugly, and a stabbing happened in front of the Famous Footwear there a few years back!

What also might be nice here: a good "independent" golf store. There was one of them in Valley Forge that closed a number of years back. I was disgusted that Golf Galaxy was allowed to open in the next building over, which prompted the earlier golf store (which itself only briefly operated in a former Golf Augusta chain store, which didn't last very long) to move to another former Golf Augusta in Springfield, but the golf store still ended up closing for good.

Everyone's comfort zone for safety is different. Let us return to answering/speculating on the original question.

It also would be lovely if the "Tinder Box" smoke shop (cigar store) in Haverford between Bryn Mawr and Ardmore on Route 30 could move to this site. Their current store has next to no parking lot and is in the middle of nowhere. A location in Wayne would make much more sense.

Dollar General? In WAYNE? That would be a nightmare! Speaking of golf stores, there also is a chain called Golfsmith that currently has stores in Willow Grove in PA and Moorestown in NJ, so one of them here would be excellent.

This spot would be too small anyway, but I wish we could have Woolworth back. I'm not sure if Wayne ever did, but most downtowns all over the USA had a Woolworth for most of the 20th Century, and shopping centers did in rural areas in the later half of the 20th Century.

Wayne (well actually St Davids) once had a Sears, now the Micro Center store. It's a shame Sears didn't bother to replace that store, but it could be argued their Exton store (which opened a number of years after the Wayne one closed) was a replacement, although miles away. Sears has been experimenting in NYC with full-service "Edwin Watts" golf stores inside the bigger Sears stores, and one of those on its own would be great for this Rite Aid site.
