Yeah, major cities have light pollution so seeing stars in the city is not going to happen. I'm looking to get a good vantage point on a moonless night. Anybody have any Suggestions?

I assume fairmont park isn't far enough from the city.

I know about cherry springs state park, but that's a good 5 hour drive.

Are there any spots maybe in bucks county or mont co that I could photograph the night sky and at least see a star or two???

You can see stars in the city, just not as many as in rural areas.
My dad has a telescope and looks at the sky from his place in NW Philly all the time. And I went to undergrad just outside the city on the mainline, and did naked eye as well as observatory based astronomy projects from the campus.

The Franklin Institute's rooftop Observatory is a hidden gem that seems to escape many city "to do" lists.

^I would love to do that; I have also always wanted to go to Cherry Springs State Park-one of the best places in the world to view stars apparently.

Hehehe, whenever I swear I see a star it starts moving and I realize it's just a plane.
