Kidphilly, yes, it was in the late 80s, early 90s that we were there. And it might have been on 313, but not above 202. It's making me crazy, the guy was trying to sell us a car.
The place is described in Weird PA, but for whatever reason they don't reveal the name on the website.

Oh, you didn't say that before - you said "gazebos and circus animals and statues", not statues of circus animals.

If it was a private home not open to the public, I doubt many people would know about it. Plus, it may all be cleared out by now.

I think I might know what you're talking about. I live in Newtown and drive past that area several times a year.

I'm not sure of the town but it might be Wrightstown or Buckingham.

It's a bizarre looking place that you can see well from the road. It's in a rural area with an old house or building on the property. I rarely notice the building because I'm too busy looking at the grounds. It has an old vintage antique look like it was built in the late 1800s or early 1900's....no later than the 1930s. It has a lot of statues and what looks like a very big double slide almost like an old mini amusement park. I think there are statues of animals but don't remember. It's just odd! It looks overgrown and I never see anyone out there.

Whenever I drive past it I wonder what must have been there years ago!

I don't think the house had a name.

Why is that so crazy? There used to be a zoo in Bucks County, and there are frequently zoo animals at public events, any one of which might have been at an estate/mansion. You weren't very specific in your first post, you didn't specify it wasn't a place open to the public, or that the animals weren't live, and we're not psychic, so I don't know why you find it so laughable that we would think that.

Btw, if what you're talking about is the one referenced in that book with the heading "A moister kind of water park", with the double slide, it's near Richboro, off of Second Street Pike, just to the south of where it crosses Swamp road:

I've driven by there loads of times, never noticed any circus animal statues. The slide is the most prominent thing - if you'd mentioned the double slide, I would have known what you were talking about immediately.

That's why I posted the link to the article. The location is given in the comments section, I believe.

When I read the original post, I immediately thought of this place too. I don't think the Google Maps shot does it justice, probably because of the wide angle lens.
