In all seriousness though my friends and I were just in the Philadelphia area today, and the city looked absolutely wonderful (from a distance). Our travels eventually took us to the King of Prussia Mall, but I hope to head to Center City soon for another trip through American history.

What if somebody falls out of the sky and lands on that point on top of the building? Don't they think about these things?!

So that's going to be between 18th & 19th on JFK, is that right? I had a little trouble with this model since it seems to be oriented to the South rather than the North.

I've got to say again, I was never all that thrilled with a lot of the skyscrapers (including the liberty towers) that went up downtown in the last three decades (or so?) but I really like the Cira Center and the Comcast Tower. Maybe it's just a reflection of architecture's general move away from the silly side of postmodernism. (Whimsy is okay, but not when it's permanently frozen in place.) This new tower seems to continue in the vein of the other new buildings I like here.

To put a negative (but realistic) spin on it: it's going to make getting around in those areas a real pain in the butt for many years to come. (Damn, just got the sidewalk re-opened at the Comcast building, and now this.)

This would be great for Philadelphia! (Please start building ASAP!)
Maybe we should do like Paris, France and clean up the city (more) and put the vagrants on the outskirts of the city?

Strictly speaking in terms of the skyline, the only downer is that from the east and west, this building will be directly in line with the Comcast Building. It would be nicer if the height was spread out a little to create a more interesting linear look to the skyline.

Yeah, I agree. Sad to see Liberty One and Two overshadowed by couple of these new buildings. They're among the most attractive architectures.
