hello,

first time posting. my family and i are traveling to north carolina coming from NEPA. Our travel plans take us 476 south to 95. We are planning to leave at 2:30 on a friday afternoon. based on google maps, we should be hitting the Philly area between 4 and 4:30. we are expecting to sit in traffic but since we rarely travel the area, we are trying to gauge how bad traffic is going to be. Any advice would be lovely or alternate route suggestions. TIA!

Hate to tell you this but you may be pretty much in grid lock along 476 if you can't leave earlier. Plus weather predictions call for severe t-storms this afternoon in the Philly area. Good luck and drive carefully!

95 South gets backed up due to normal rush hour traffic but its twice ' as heavy on Friday due to Shore Traffic.

So 476 South traffic has nowhere to go as it approaches 95 South,Its a crawl. Plymouth Meeting to Delaware border is going to be 1 hour + imo. Then you will hit another massive jam in Delaware where 95-295 and 495 merge.

Like the other posters said, you're going to be in a world of hurt.

What's your destination in NC? If it's Triad/Charlotte or west, you could take I81, then I77. It might add some miles to the trip but would have the advantage of being predictable, time-wise.
