Hi Philly'ians,

I enjoyed the visit to your city and thought it was so cool. I really loved the food. I want to move there and enjoy this lifestyle more... My concern though is 2 things and I hope you can please help me with those. First, why do so many men... walk in front of cars as they cross streets? It is really out of character and 2) the drivers seem to feel it's ok to cut in front of you there is this style of living I noticed. But these people are so nice, I just feel they got to be like that from living in the area. Thanks much for the feedbacks!

If this is a serious thread.... Its called fast paced city living....

I live in NYC and its even worse, if there is more than a 10ft gap between cars, pedestrians will ignore the stop walking sign and cut right through. Its simply because people have places to go and things to do/ they aren't paying attention.

And women do it too lol, they are usually the ones not paying attention (no offense women on here).

Arton1-I wouldn't be concerned unless the cars were running down the people lol

Enjoy the fantastic city and tell us about your move if you make it permanent

Breaking -- highly populated, dense cities suffer from congestion.

It is definitely a characteristic of a fast paced city.

And congestion is a given, its the 5th largest city in the nation, what are you expecting, country roads?

A lot more people + very limited space = competition for said limited space and little patience to wait. It's like that in every big, crowded city across the globe.

Fighting for every inch of space. Rushing to the subway to get space on the train, speeding to beat the next red light, not that they have more to do. On the contrary.

Just going anywhere takes forever and people are feeling trapped.
