Obviously, it's much smaller with far fewer events going on than Longwood. It depends what you want - a nice walk around the gardens and it's a fine choice. But if you want a full day with the music and everything, nothing in the area compares to Longwood, and the price will reflect it. I really like the train exhbit at Morris but I'm not sure if it runs in the winter.

The holiday railway is running through January 3rd! Yes, the train is great.

Wish public transport out there was better. Since it's part of UPenn it would be nice if the university offered a shuttle for locals and visitors that ran on a regular basis, at least during the peak seasons.

Where do you want the shuttle to stop? Other than a shuttle from the train to the arboretum doorstep, mass transit is fine.

There is the R7 and R8. Germantown ave has buses and Germantown Ave crosses Broad.

Done the R7 and R8, but not the Germantown Ave. bus. Didn't find that reliable on the weekends, the only time I could go, so just hiked from the trains. Managed but didn't care for it much hauling camera equipment and I don't care to drive.

Penn has a shuttle for everything else it seems, so why not this as well? Part of their campus so they ought to help make it more accessible, and my colleagues would agree.
