Hi everyone,
Ive been living in Philly for a few months now and I am currently living in a not so nice neighbourhood near my job in North Philly. I want to move into center city, its so isolated where I am right now, there is nothing at all to do and its not the safest place I have ever lived to say the least!

So, I want to find a 2 bed apartment as close to center city as possible, and I need to be able to get to the broad St line easily so I can commute to work. My budget is $1400. I have been looking at apartments in Chinatown, Grad. Hospital and Bella Vista as these seem to be the only areas in my price range. Could anyone tell me what these neighrbourhoods are like in terms of things to do, safety and accesability to center city?? Or reccomend any other areas that are similar?
Im still not that familiar with most of Philly not having been here long. I love center city and just want to live closer to the hustle and bustle of city life then I am right now!
Thanks for any advice ppl

Not sure where you've been looking but a quick look on Craigslist turned up a nice two bedroom in Old City for $1300, a three bedroom in Old City for $1400,
a two bedroom in beautiful Queen Village for $1300, a two bedroom in Washington Square West for $1395 and a two bedroom in a great section of the Art Museum area for $1395. They're out there.

Thanks for the suggestions, I had never heard of Queen Village before but I checked it out and it looks like a great area. Ive seen a house im really interested in in Graduate Hospital and i just want to know what that area is like? Is it safe at night and is it mainly residential or is there much to do there?
Thanks
