As far as I'm concerned, Center City Philadelphia is the most walkable, diverse, and interesting urban place in the US. Clearly, nothing compares to NYC, but for human scale, and walkability Center City Philadelphia is #1.

The 20 or so square blocks of Central Philadelphia is urban and walkable...much of the remaining geographical 80% is not.

Other than the Far Northeast which feels a little more suburban, I can't imagine what areas you're talking about. The vast majority of Philadelphia proper is quite urban.

At a minimum you need to Del river to 45th st from Washington ave to Girard.

That is ~ 20 x 45 or 900 blocks

THis also omits many very walkable areas.

Default Philly is the Athens of the East Coast

Philly is a delight and will surprise many travellers. I would say Philly is as urban as NYC.

Philly is unique and she has her own style as recognized by many on the east coast.
