The # 21 seems to be a popular number, once people turn 21 in age the birthday party is a big bash, I hear alot of old people saying they wish they were 21 again?

In the not so distant past twenty-one was the customary age at which one became an adult (even though some rights like a driving license were available to you before that.) You were allowed/required to fully function legally as an adult at that age. Thus, you were finally entering life as an adult on your own.
That was the mindset when I was in my late teens, however already in my state most rights were available at age eighteen.

Thats true since typically most people do mature in their 20s and some do earlier but at the end of the day, the 20s are the right age-range to legalize most things.

It's arbitrary. I hear a lot of people say they wish they were 20 again. Or 30. IMO there's nothing all that special about 21.
In the card game "blackjack," 21 is the best hand. Over and you go bust. Also, there is a famous restaurant in NYC by that name, and it's considered one of the finest.
Yeh, they seriously need to get rid of the stupid of stupidest rules. It has had such a negative effect on society. It has turned alcohol into a religion. It has turned college into a right of passage, but not in the way it is suppose to be.

College would be a rite of passage anyway. Some students are finishing their last year of college when they turn 21, so drinking age doesn't have anything to do with it. Getting accepted to a university and leaving home, making that transition from childhood in the parental home to living more independently are the rite of passage. Graduation from highschool is a rite of passage. Graduation from college and transitioning into the adult work world, even more so.
Really? Outside the US, it doesn't seem to be a big deal...
