We are moving to the Phoenix area July 1st, 2010, thinking about the Chandler area. We have two children going into 6th grade. Any advice on good school systems would be very helpful
Any areas to stay away from?

I don't have children but the Kyrene school district is highly touted, at least it seems to be given anyone selling a house in the area that is in that district is certain to advertise it.

Both Kyrene and Chandler are great school districts. I live near Jacobsen elementary, Bogle Jr Hi and they feed into Hamilton High. I don't have kids anymore, but our area has alot of them (Ocotillo) and you might want to look at our area for your next home ! Our zip is 85248. Part of Sun Lakes is also that same zip, but that's for folks over 55. Good luck and welcome !

Thanks so much for the advice! We really appreciate it. We have done some research on the school systems in the Chandler area and the Kyrene district seems to be where it's at. We are all really excited to be moving to Arizona. Does anyone have any tips on areas to stay away from? Thanks so much!!

In that part of the Valley, it's hard to go wrong. Ocotillo is a very good choice, as the poster above indicated-- very good Chandler district (not Kyrene district) schools. Kyrene is very good, but it covers only a part of Chandler, the Foothills/Ahwatukee areas of southeast Phoenix, and all of south Tempe.
