LOL.....you are right, in Cosmic Time. It will be really strange seeing all of those coffins floating up on the beaches of Arizona.

Puh-leeze. I grew up in Southern California. They've been saying this for decades. Not likely to happen in our lifetime, though it could. Personally, I doubt it'll be that radical. YMMV.

To me the worst thing by far about PHX is the overcrowding and congestion. There are too many people here. SoCal has every problem over-population brings many times worse than Phoenix and AZ. Much of the year PHX has equal or better weather. I don't think a (much) nicer summer makes up for that.

Ocean front in AZ, is not likely, probably will never happen. But a serious earthquake is indeed likely in your lifetime if you are young. The thing people don't realize, however, is that a devastating earthquake in CA would have impacts far beyond its borders in the disruption to the flow of goods from food to oil and commerce. AZ might not be shaken by the quake, but the economic aftershock could be quite severe for us as well.

Lets trade. I dream of the day that I can sit outside amongst the pines, drinking some hot coffee, wearing a nice comfortable warm jacket in 50 degree weather and just breathing in all that fresh crisp air. Lets see if you would of lasted 10 minutes sitting on my porch when it was 111 degrees yesterday afternoon. Sick of this crap!

I will agree about the traffic and congestion, it's never an easy commute.

Driving the 202 Loop and I-10 from the eastside to the west valley in the afternoon crush hour is especially painful. I really wish those additional freeways in the west valley would be constructed and maybe add light rail service out that way.

California has better weather though, probably ten times better than our summers. When it's still over 110 in middle to late September that is just wrong.
