If you like Asian food- check out China Palace at Brown and Alta Mesa Dr.
Sakana Japanese Sushi at Power and Baseline.
Mexican-Matta's, one at Mesa Riverview and another at Higley and Brown, Tia Rosa at Mckellips and Arobleda, and Nandos at Power and Mcdowell.
There's more but I can't just name em' off the top of my head.

I haven't been there in years, but I used to love the Ripe Tomato Cafe at Baseline and Extension. Good breakfast and lunch. The fact that it is still there after MANY years says something, in this environment where restaurants close on what seems like a daily basis.

If you've never been there, you need to go to the Landmark on Main... It's an experience. Home-cooked style food, and some great historical photographs re: Arizona on the walls.

Oooh, can't think of the name. But we went to a "hole in the wall" place several times when we used to live in the East Mesa/Red Mountain Ranch area and it was pretty good. I think the name was Iowa Cafe or Iowa Meat Co. or something, maybe someone can help me with the name and location. Anyway we liked it. Small and very mom and poppish.
