Okay, there's lots of restaurants the OP could consider, but she's looking to make good money as a server, so, as mistygirl suggested, narrow it down and give her some concrete suggestions out of those many restaurants.

What I meant by staying on topic was not going too far afield on something like exactly how many restaurants are in the vicinity of old town Scottsdale, (which is not what the OP wanted to know) and not addressing the specific questions she did ask.

It might depend on how one defines "bike friendly". I'm sure there are people who do ride bikes in Old Town, but there is a lack of bike lanes, a lot of on street parking that can complicate things for bike riders in various ways and create hazards, and tourists (and locals) who may be concentrating on looking for a particular store, or restaurant, and not see a bike rider. So, it is important to be careful riding there (just like many other areas of the Valley).

Tempe is the best place to live in the Phoenix area without a car, due to the free Orbit neighborhood circulator bus. There are a lot of independent, unique coffee shops in Tempe-- not necessarily in downtown Tempe. Gold Bar and Xtreme Bean are pretty cool, near Rural/Southern.
