Hey everyone!

Looking like I'll be moving to Phoenix in the next month, just wanted to get an insider's look into what might be the best area for me.

I'm a 26 year old, single, white, young professional. I'd really like to be in the mix of everything, restaurants, bars, sports, concert venues, etc.
Is there a certain part of Phoenix/Scottsdale/Tempe would recommend?

I've spent little time there, so I feel pretty clueless as far as what would be a good fit.

Thanks for the help!

You should move to an area within an easy commute to your job. I'm guessing you already have a job lined up? Tell us where it's located, and our comments will be more relevant.

Good call, commute time is always one factor.

I'll be working on E. Camelback Rd, does that help narrow it down?

Thanks!

OK, the Biltmore area? I'd recommend Scottsdale or North Phoenix, though Tempe wouldn't be too bad, depending on your tolerance for commuter traffic.

Thanks for the info, that's a good start.

I'll deal with a longer commute time to live in the area that suits me best.
I'm just primarily focused on being close to nightlife and lots of other people in their 20's, young professionals, students, etc.

Is Tempe a good spot to be if you're not an ASU student? I don't mind being around the students, just really looking for the most fun area.

I'm not familiar with Tempe, and am not in my 20s, so I'll leave that to other, more qualified members. I do know old town Scottsdale attracts young professionals and has lots of nightlife.

Scottsdale sounds like it may work well for me.

Looking forward to getting out there, should be a fun new experience!

Any other suggestions?

Hate to say this but I don't think Phoenix (or tempe scottsdale) is really a good place for a 20s something person. I'm not here to flame Phoenix because I really like living here just I am extremely bored here and the night life really sucks. I live so far from Tempe that its impossible to go out for drinks there and I was really never into that college sene to begin with. Just sayin'.
