Of course it went well. PHX area has always been superb in putting on these events. We have a huge hospitality industry and plenty of experience from college bowls, NBA all stars, super bowls, world series, and BCS championships and big conventions. This city even at its dirtiest is newer, cleaner and more modern than anything in the US. People don't expect that from a big city. The heat was a concern, but we know how to deal with heat. Pretty much everything was held indoors in the cool air. Bring on the Olympics!

PS: I was impressed by how many shots of the light rail I have seen on the various sports stations in the past couple days. Right up there with saguaros. I guess it makes a favorable impression.

we used the park & ride option for both the HR Derby & the All Star Game .... worked like a charm and the kids enjoyed being on the train .... they were packed though, especially last night

met a lot of people from out of town at the game last night ... people who travel from event to event and all indicated that it went off pretty well ..... didn't hear a single complaint about the heat, although my nephew was complaining that it was cold in the stadium last night (we had some of the AC airflow directly on us) ... overall it was comfortable ..... massive crowds seemed to be everywhere, I can't imagine the amount of business Sliders did .... the proshops in the stadium and the makeshift one outside were very busy, but very efficient .... the kiosk type proshops in the stadium were awful .... overall the stands did a good job at keeping the lines moving .... we went down to get hot dogs (again, love the value menu) and hit the restrooms after the 5th inning and missed 4 at bats - all of which were quick outs .... not shabby
