We will have a family vacation next month, and the flight is 6:00am in the morning. Since we have 3 people (my wife, my son and me), and we live in downtown Phoenix, it seems using a taxi would be the best choice.

I'm wondering which taxi service is most reliable for our case?

We have quite some luggage (this is an international flight), so we might need a minivan, with childseat.

Any suggestions? Thanks!

You might look at the shuttle.

Another recommendation for the super shuttle vs a cab.

The other thing you might consider is off-airport parking. The airport uncovered economy lots charge 9 bucks a day now, so for us it's about 7-8 days of parking = cab/shuttle fare break even.

If you're willing to use the off airport guys who charge 6-7 bucks a day, and still run a shuttle from the lot to the terminals, you could skip the super shuttle reservation/cab hassle and drive your own car - just allow a little extra time.

Super shuttle has it down to a science - I'd take them over a cab any day...

I live near downtown and typically take Super Shuttle to go to the airport and grab a taxi on the way home. For one person Super Shuttle is a little cheaper, for 3 the taxi will be cheaper. Still, Super Shuttle is probably safer, they have never screwed up a pickup and I have been using them for years. The reason you want to take a taxi home is that you can just walk outside and grab one. With Super Shuttle you need to wait outside until they get a full van's worth of people, which can take a while.

Another vote for Super Shuttle. No muss, no fuss. And really inexpensive from central Phoenix.

Thanks for all the suggestions. It seems using the shuttle is a safer bet to catch my flight.

For the shuttle, I have two different experiences, or so. And here is my experiences and question.

We took the shuttle once, w/o any problem, my son just sit in one seat (we didn't bring our own carseat). Then at the next time, we were not allowed to take the shuttle because we didn't have the carseat for my son. We eventually took a taxi with carseat to get home.

So do you need a carseat for a three-year-old kid to take the shuttle?

You need a carseat for a three year old in ANY car. If they don't provide it, you'd have to.

It was cheaper for us to stay at a hotel by the airport, take their shuttle for free and leave our car there for three weeks also for free than to take a shuttle or a taxi.

That's an interesting idea. No worries the hotel won't tow your car while you are gone?
