I am trying my best to find a nice apartment to move into come January that includes most utilities, but in case that does not happen, I wanted to know what a single person in a one bedroom one bathroom apartment pays in gas, water, electric, and garbage, would really appreciate the input.

water, garbage and sewer sometimes cable are included with the rent. You generally only pay APS or SRP. It depends on the size of the apt. My friend pays around $100 year round and then up tp $300 in the the summer months. But he keeps his townhouse at 65 and its 1400 sq ft. Good sized townhouse.

My son lived for a while in an old efficiency in the university area in Tempe and his electric bill ranged from APS's minimum in the winter (around $25 with fees) to almost $100 in late summer. His was an end unit in a one-story that was about sixty years old and very poorly insulated.

Google "utilities included apartments Mesa, AZ" (without quotes) and you'll see that several places include everything. Good luck!
