Hello, I am a 19 year black male from East Cleveland, Ohio. I came to this thread to find out more about Scottsdale, Arizona simply because my father and stepmom wants me to move with them there in 2012. Even though I truly love Cleveland I think its best I move, i live in area thats very poor and its high in crime. I just wanted to know do you guys think the move will be worth it, is it any fun there and what should I look forward to?

Anything would be better than a bad part of Cleveland--It's hopeless. Lots of stuff to do in Scottsdale, and most of it cost money. Job market is very tough--and downright dim for the uneducated as there is lots of competition--still better than Cleveland.

Scottsdale is just amazing. It's the cleanest city I've ever been to, some of the best cars you'll ever see, more shopping than you could imagine and friendly people for the most part. I don't think you could go wrong, you'll love it! Welcome to Arizona.

You will have easy access to Arizona State University in Tempe from Scottsdale. Lots of social activity and things of interest to your age group there. Are you currently in school or do you work? People who tell you jobs are hard to come by are correct. Extra hard if you have no education beyond high school. What are your interests? If you are a Browns or Ohio State fan, there's more than one sports bar where you can commune with your people. Supposedly Big Daddy's Sports Bar (Cave Creek at Peoria) caters to former Ohioans. But that's a hike from Scottsdale. I'd be surprised if there wasn't one closer. Check out brownsbacker.com

leaving Clev will be your best decision. I bet you kick yourself after the fact and say "why didn't I do this earlier"

Good luck moving forward.
