I am using this plan from this July.
Recently some times internet is very slow.
It will be faster if I change another plan?
Or it is my PC's problem?
How about your PC if Preferred plan?
Thank you!

Have you talked to Cox about the slowness problem, which appears to be recent? Perhaps there is a problem they can fix.

Seems like a blip. I wouldn't consider changing providers yet.

Any number of things, on your side and on Cox's could cause such a problem. There is no way that this forum can help you debug it. One assumes that you have tried obvious things like powering the modem on and off.

You can check your signal levels on your modem. Try putting 168.192.0.1 into your browser address. That should get you to the modem. Look around for a status or signal level or something like that. Your downstream SNR should be above 32 and your upstream power should be below 50. If these levels are not in spec, you will get bad to very bad and unpredicatable performance. Generally, bad levels indicate loose connections, corrosion, or a bad cable. You can also check event logs for errors.

I was getting 31.5 area SNRs on mine a few weeks back and having no end of problems. I called and service guy came out and replaced the connectors in the box outside. I jumped up a little over 1 db and my problems disappeared completely.

With Cox, you share your connection with your neighbors. If all your neighbors are downloading and browsing at the same time as you, it will be much slower. If you're on at 4am, it should be much faster.

I used to work for Cox doing technical support over the phone, we got this call often. Honestly Cox isn't all the fast, and for the price you're better off going with Century Link.

Did you run a speed test? www.speedtest.net

Depending on your modem (usually motorola) might have IP flood detection turned on which is stupid thing on many of them and after while it brings your speed to a grinding halt in the course of several months. Cox tech support or the modem manufacturer tech support can help with that.
