Can anyone recommend an excellent veterinarian with reasonable prices in the East Valley, preferably Mesa.

I like Dr. Kleban at Red Mountain Vet near McKellips and Recker. I've only seen him 2-3 times, though. I saw another vet at that practice once and preferred Dr. K, so I just ask for him now. I can't say they're cheap but I get the feeling he at least won't recommend frivolous treatments and tests.

I really liked East Side Veterinary on Stapley/Univ. but they purge files regularly and don't take new clients. They purged our file after putting one of our dogs down and not hearing from us for a year or two.

Countryside Animal Hospital in Tempe, any of the vets, really, but I especially like Dr. Dunning and Dr. Farrar. I don't know how their prices compare, I don't think there is that much difference, frankly, in prices between vets for routine care. For shots, etc., you can always get info on the low cost clinics run through the Humane Society.

Power Road Animal Hospital. Prices are about average for the area, but the quality of the service from vets, techs and admin staff is excellent.

If I was searching for a combo of traditional and holistic treatment for my pet, it's Dwight Benish at Chandler Small Animal Clinic. That's also where I would go if I had a dog with valley fever. Great vet but the administration staff is a mess so keep track of the treatment records yourself.

Scottsdale Vet Clinic @Thomas Road and Scottsdale Rd. Very reasonable prices and open 7 days a week with night time hours too.

Love all the doctors in the practice - especially Dr. D' Monte. SCV has a great relationship with Diamondback Pharmacy for custom Rx compounds made especially for your pet.
