I found it hard to believe that snowbird-rich Phoenix wouldn't have a Golden Corral, so I looked it up. Actually, you have five in the metro. Two more than we have in Southern Arizona and we have three too many.

I'm partial to Red Rock Cafe up at Fort McDowell for reasons I explained. I enjoy the trip up The Beeline past Fountain Hills. Makes for nice scenery at sunset up that way too !

A lady carved me two pieces of nice prime rib this past thursday at Red Rock. The casino is better at Fort McDowell too. More slots selection plus a big bingo hall too.

The bingo hall looks like everyone is dying in there with the smoke and they look to serious in there.

And in the Redrock cafe there is to many people in there and seems really conjested, the food seems average quality. Thats why its cheaper. The crab legs seem to be lower grade quality as well. I like my crab legs snow crab light and easy to crack open and not smell fishy. Sometimes i notice at the casino that the quality isnt there.. THey seem hard to open, overcooked, and have fishy smell, little slimy. Not sure where they purchase there crabs legs from, maybe phillipines or something. LOL jk i dont know but after eating various places you can tell the difference.

They do have allot of slot machines which is a plus, also the scenic drive is nice too. However i think Talking stick blows it out of the water in atmosphere and there food selection.

The place that does have really good crab legs is Maztzal Casino up in Payson. If you go about a hour further past Ft Mcdowell on Sunday. There brunch they have crab legs and prime rib for $16.99 per person.. Its not a huge buffet but the quality is deffiantly there. There crab legs you can tell the difference then the others. The prime rib and there dressings for salads are excellent.. Not sure how they make it, but i crave it everytime i make the trip up there. The scenic drive is excllent too.
