I have purchased a great home with a golf course view. Thanks to everyone for taking the time to respond to my post. So glad we did not purchase in Florida but took the time to fall in love with Arizona. I usually travel 3 times each winter to mexico, definitely won't need to do that now.

Don't worry, Canadians in Phoenix will go back to Canada:
1. for reasonably priced medicine.
2. from April to October.

Smile purchased in Maricopa

We have purchased in Rancho El Dorado Maricopa with a closing date of May 8th. We love the small town feel as we live in a town now of 35k. I loved chandler and gilbert but felt it was a bit overwelming and since I will always be on vacation when I am there the drive to shopping won't bother me. Now I am trying to find someone with a fair rate to check in on my property and cut the grass when I am not there. Any recommendations greatly appreciated. Have found house insurance and auto as I will be shipping a car down to leave. Rentals are too much money. I am now scheduled to fly in May 12th for a month to furnish the house. If for any reason it did not close (traditional sale) well then I guess I will be there to house hunt. [mod cut-- no recommendations of specific realtors in the forums]. I am 46 so no 6 month stays for me but when I retire I am going to love spending winters in such a beautiful place with such great people. The only thing I would say that arizona lacks for snowbirds is companies that come in and provide furnishing in a package deal. Florida is full of them and so far I have only found one in Az.

Cant really help with furnishing the place - but glad you posted where you ended up. Always nice to close these threads out. And interesting that you DID end up in Maricopa - not sure if you had already been considering there before my post - but if not - glad I could help! LOL

Congrats!

I think any furniture store will make you a deal on a houseful. Try Kerby's.
