I wish there was good beef here. I wish there were good tenderlion sandwiches here.

That may be so, but we dont have an AJ's here in CG....yet. And I've never been to one so dont know what its like.
I also hate having to use that 'card' thing to knock the price a little, why dont these stores just do the prices without that card?! I just type in my phone number on the keypad rather than clutter my wallet or keyring with several different cards, arrrrgh!

Actually, I have a friend who works at Albertsons and he says he shops elsewhere because of prices.
But again, I go where the (good) weekly sales are. I dont do any of those 'health-food' stores or go into a store for groceries where they have that 'mood lighting' highlighting cookware, housewares, kitchen stuff, etc. If I need a pan or a dish towel, I'll go to Target. Food City or Bashas is just as good as Safeway or Stater Bros, as far as Im concerned. For me, its about where the best deals for the week are, Im not too proud to save a few bucks.
I agree with you power surge, I love food city, their produce section is great and so are the tortillas, plus the price is always right.
My husband is in love with Safeway, I tell him over and over that their prices are way too high, but every time he goes shopping he heads back to Safeway.

When I found out we were being transferred to AZ from OH the first thing I did was mapquest for a Trader Joe's. I was so excited to find that I'll be within a half hour of three! Right now I drive an hour and 15 minutes to get to Trader Joe's. I do this about once every six weeks with a cooler and stock up.

Thanks for the posts about Sprouts. I am looking forward to buying fresh, locally grown produce more often than three months out of the year!

Hi sarahp! What part of Ohio are you coming from? I just moved to AZ 2 weeks ago from Cleveland.

I'm in a small city an hour north of Columbus - Bucyrus. Though my husband is there now, I won't be there until June - my son is a senior in high school, so we're waiting until he's done with school.

I don't know if they closed the one on Scottsdale and Shea down or not. The last time I was over in that area, they were doing some construction at that strip mall. I did not pay attention to see what they were doing. I did look online on the Wildoats website, and they only list the Raintree address for their Scottsdale location (I know that one is definitely there because I pass by it all the time). They also listed the Camelback location and the Tucson location.
