Honestly, I don't even remember the last time I saw an Asian person (aside from workers at a sushi restaurant, etc.) or a black person, they both seem to be far and in between.
I used to see the groups of Asians at the home lotteries every Saturday a few years back. I think they headed to Charlotte

Motley Crew - I couldn't give you any points either.. so I guess we're even.

I only know of one interracial couple at our church and they seem like nice folks.

Hi,

I'm a race mixed couple and yes I understand that it matters. Of course it does. The only people that it doesn't matter to is the majority. I hear lots of positive things about Phoenix, but don't go any further south than that. Once you get past Phoenix it's like your moving out of - well, just don't do it. If you do move here, bring some family with you. You will largely be socially isolated. Some people are very accepting of my mixed marriage and my children. We're from Cali and there no one cared. But here, it seems to matter a lot. If someone had told me this, we would not have moved here. Now, we're stuck here for a few more years. Most minorities who move here (who are not Hispanic) leave after awhile. That is why there is not a lot of diversity. Some People from Arizona will have a very hard time admitting that. Some of them will accuse you of all sorts of things or thinking, or try to explain it away. But that is why except for Hispanics, you do not see any other great diversitiy.

I won't argue your experiences with you, but I have to say they sound NOTHING like my own. Maybe it is like so much around here - it depends on where you live. But where I live, mixed marriage and interracial children are relatively common. No eyebrows are raised and there has been no discriminatory treatment, no comments from neighbors, no shunning of the children, absolutely nothing remotely related to what you describe. So, from my perspective, your experience is unusual and not typical of what one might expect when moving here.
