i'm planning to move to glendale and find a place on 57th and royal palm.(right above northern ave. )
is this a area considered safe? i'm gonna take a look tommorow but wanted to hear everybody's

That neighborhood is older and more established but the homes are pretty nice and well kept. Larger one story homes in a quiet neighborhood. The area is fairly safe I mean just take the necessary precautions and you should be fine. The Walmart across the street will attract the worst of south Glendale (of course) but that's the Walmart experience for you. Other than that though the neighborhood is fine.

Don't restrict yourself to the Glendale city limits. While I would agree the northern part of Glendale is much better than the southern part, you should also consider Peoria and Surprise as options in addition to northern Glendale. Both are nice areas.

The OP probably doesn't want to live that far out. Surprise and Glendale are not the same area. Surprise is far west valley, very new and suburban, and far from a lot of amenities and such. Glendale is more established, suburban yet you still feel like you're in the city, and a lot of Glendale isn't that far out at all and you're never far from a freeway (I17 or 101) to get across town. Especially from where the OP is looking to move to...57th Ave&Northern is only 4 miles from I-17.
