This thread is just too funny -

Posters are acknowledging they are breaking the law - then, they jump through all kinds of hoops, take all kinds of chances, in order to try to avoid paying the penalty for THEM breaking the law -

Folks - here is the simple solution to all this: Don't speed - slow down. Speed kills.

Don't run red lights or stop signs - too many people get injured or killed that way.

Don't break the law and all of your worries are over - PLUS - you will get better insurance rates -

Well, as long as there are ridiculous speed limits on some street (the only reason for setting them being improvement of revenue; there's no other logical reason) we'll be speeding.

The other day I was "introduced" to the radar in question. Since it appears for the first time, there was a sign warning about its presence. We've had unmarked squad cars in town for years... it's not much different. When it's your time to get lucky, you'll get lucky... I usually get my tickets out of town.

I'm sorry but, 45 or 50 on a city street, when you are encountering all kinds of traffic - young, old, out of towners who are lost, pedestrians - those speed limits are not there to generate revenue

As an example - US60 - east of Apache Junction - speed limit is 65 (in Gold Canyon where there is congestion it is 55) - DPS now has Photo Radar and they are finding lots of speeders. My neighbor, a supervisor with DPS (brings the car home every day) told me they have clocked people well over 100 with one @ 120. I'm sorry, there is no need for that

Do you have any excuses for running red lights?

I can't say about Phoenix, but we do have streets looking like darn highways with speed limits of 35 and 40.

Red lights I don't run and don't endorse it.
