Hello all

I may want to relocate to the Phoenix area if I'm layed off from my job in Charlotte NC in the next year. I moved to Charlotte from Shreveport LA. About 3 years ago but I don't like it here and if I am layed off I want to move to the Phoenix area if I don't move to Dallas TX. I have $25.000-$30.000 to buy a lot to live on so I won't have worry about rent or a mortgage. Something I own. Is there any lots in that price range within 30 miles of the Phoenix area? I posted this in the Dallas forum too. It's kind of a toss up between Dallas and Phoenix with Phoenix being preferred for the warm dry climate and beauty. But jobs are also important. I'm a NC programmer with many years experience with Mastercam mill and CNC mill operating experience. Any advice?

The budget will make it tough, but not impossible. There are a few lots under $30k in the far east valley (Apache Junction, Gold Canyon and I think I saw a couple in Mesa). Are you planning on building or buying a mobile home or what?

Probably move a small mobile home or RV on the lot.

Far east valley or far west valley nothing much for 30k check out zip reality website good search functions also zillow. Most lots are $100k in the city you might be able to get a loan with your down payment. RV's on lots are targets for thieves while your not home you might want to just rent an RV lot. My in law lived in a RV for 2 years after he got divorced and BK it was small but he sure saved a lot of money.

Try moving to Black Canyon City in AZ and you can get a machine shop job about 26 miles to the south off Deer Valley Rd. Easy 20 to 25 minute commute. BCC is in Yavapai county so the cost of living is lower and night time temps cool off. Good schools, low water costs and great Fire Dept.

Land is high here and has been since we moved 9 years ago. Best of luck in your search.
