Your question is way too broad. "Phoenix" is a VERY large city in terms of area in itself, Glendale is but one of its many suburbs. There are lots of people happily raising families all over the Phoenix metro area.

There is a lot of information here already to help you if you use the search function and spend some time reading. More specific info about your family and what you are looking for would also help. Where will you be working (being relatively close to work is helpful here, as this is a spread out area and commutes can be long). What are your housing needs, and your budget for housing" Renting first is a good idea for anyone who is unfamiliar with the area. What else do you want to be close to in terms of recreational activities, etc?

Help us a bit more so that we can help you.

You need to tell us a little more about your situation and motivation (other than snow). Things like:
  • Where will you be working?
  • Do you have family and friends in the area? Where?
  • How big of a home will you require?
  • Buying or renting? What is your budget?
  • What type of activities do you enjoy?
  • What is unique about you or your family that will make you more comfortable in one area or another?

Since you indicated Glendale or Phoenix, why?

Tell us more and we can offer better suggestions.

Im thinking you should just keep this on your desktop as a txt so you can copy and paste!

The suburbs in metro Phoenix are not like a small town. They directly border Phoenix, and you won't be necessarily aware that you've moved from one to the other. If you are looking for a small town feel, that's tough to find here. There are nursing homes and hospitals all over the metro area. You also have a lot of choices with schools. I'm not familiar with LPN training programs, but I'm sure others will chime in.

The community college system here is a good deal. I'm an RN and was a LPN for 6 years. There are very few jobs for LPN's. If you go to community college for an associate degree you can take the LPN boards at some point and work as an LPN until you finish your RN training. What is refered to as The Valley is: Phoenix, Glendale, Mesa,Tempe, Peoria, Paradise Valley, Chandler, Gilbert, and Scottsdale. You really can not tell where one city or area ends and another begins. If you must live on the west side, I recommend Peoria for better schools yet it is not a high end location. You could drive to Glendale Community Collage. Make sure you understand signs of heat stroke and heat exhaustion. It's pretty hot here in June.
