Does anyone know of a website or where I can find statistical information on HOA monthly fee by property in Phoenix? At our board meeting last night, a "charged" discussion erupted when a board member firmly (wishfully?) stated, "our monthly dues are one of the lowest in the Valley".

Before the shouting starts...I know, I know...a lot depends on what kind of bang you get for your HOA fee buck. In fact, there are so many variables - it could make one's head spin.

The search for the facts must start somewhere. Hopefully, some of the knowledgeable folks on C/D will chime in. Please do not let this thread get into a HOA bash-a-thon. The moderators on the Phoenix Area forum...well, if you are a regular, you know.

No idea where this would be compiled but ours are $177 a quarter. No pool in the subdivision, we have walking paths, volleyball and basketball courts.

$163/quarter...no pool or any amenities at all really...I think there might be a super small park somewhere in the neighborhood but I've never seen it.

Ok, checked it out on Google and apparently we have 3 community parks...all super small, would have been nice to have a basketball court at least, and they are all in the other subdivision with the closest of the 3 parts a 0.4 mile walk.

Thanks to everyone that has replied so far. I realize that this is general information question and very location specific. What about streets? Common areas and landscaping - is that included? Are townhouse/condo HOA's usually responsible for the exterior?

Maybe I should have entitled this thread - Phoenix HOA'sfor Dummy.

HX_Guy - thanks for the pictures. Visual aids are always welcome! Not trying to sound like a smart a$$, but where do the sidewalks lead to? Is that a body of water in the background?

Does your HOA have a board and CC&R's?

Thanks for your help.

Those sideways just sort of make a U-turn inside these mini-parks, theres a table and some kids play equipment in there.
The body of water in the background is the dry riverbed of the Agua Fria River.

We do have a board and CC&Rs.
