Moved back to Arizona after spending a few years in Idaho. I hear you about the lack of decent, local craft beers. Some of the stuff from Four Peaks isn't too bad. Found a place in Flagstaff that came close to what I could get in the Northwest. Since moving here I just stock up on beer at Total Wine and drink at home. It's going to take me a few years to drink my way through the whole selection.

Have heard many good things about Arizona Wilderness. Too bad it's almost an hour away from my house on a side of town I never go to.

One thing to watch out for if you go to some local bars is how fresh the one tap of craft beer is. Went to a place out here in Avondale and the single tap devoted to beer other than mass produced crap beer was really skunky. The other thing I run into is having to try to explain why I want a room temperature glass and not a frozen glass when I order craft beer. Bartenders will look at you weird.

Not certain if this helps, Grassfeeder, however . . .

Thunder Canyon brews some excellent ales down here in Tucson (my favorite is the Thunder Canyon IPA) and I believe a few are available at the Yard House.

Thirsty Lion Pub says it has 52 craft beers on tap. I like the food there too.

Forgot to mention Ground Control in Litchfield Park. Great tap selection and about the most knowledgeable craft brew bartender I have met since moving to Phoenix. Had some beers on tap I have never seen anywhere else.

I think four peaks is pretty solid, but not outstanding. angels trumpet has the best selection I've found here. Granted, I've only been here five months. I was lucky enough to catch them with some hopslam on tap which made me very happy.

I don't drink beer, but my husband is a big fan of Fate Brewing Company in Scottsdale. It's on Shea near Scottsdale Road.

I second Four Peaks. And it's a bit of a drive, but Oak Creek Brewery up in Sedona is superb.
