Anybody have any exceptionally great experiences with a private care home in the Chandler/Tempe/Ahwatukee area? Trying to help a friend find a place for her Mom and she is getting overwhelmed quickly.

It's been years since my mom needed a place like that, there are folks who work as "finders" for places like that, I got the names of them from the social workers at the rehab unit at Banner Hospital after my mom's stroke, when she was ready to be discharged but could not stay at home. Found a FANTASTIC place with this lady's help. Let me see if I can find the man who owns the home (he owns several out this way) and get you a phone number.

Thanks so much. She has resorted to a finder but was hoping to have some other references too if at all possible.

I used A Place for Mom. I got 7 places to look at and did see all. I chose a home in Chandler off Cooper and Riggs and it only had 2 other residents. It was $2500 a month, but well worth it, since the first place (a high rise assisted living place was $1000 a month more and awful. Good luck. Lots of emotions associated with this choice.
