My husband cooks the best vegan meals so we don't eat out very often because I crave his food more, I will have to try some of these other suggestions also!
I have a similar "problem", I married my favorite vegan chef.

AlohaFriday mentioned True Food that might be in line of what you're looking for. I've never tried it but the menu and driving buy one of the locations(forgot if it was the Phoenix or Scottsdale location) looked like it might be a more upscale type place you're looking for.

I have been to True Food before and while it was tasty for sure, I'm wouldn't but it in the same caliber of restaurant as Sutra or Poppy.

I'm obsessed with Pomegranate Cafe. My bf and i eat there at least once every week to two weeks. It's not really 'unique' vegan/vegetarian food. But it's delicious.

Default favorite vegetarian/vegan restaurants

Hi there y'all...

So I will be in Phoenix this weekend, as I'm helping my parents with their move to Gilbert, and what was wondering what would be a great vegan or vegetarian (or a restaurant with an awesome veggie dish) place to check out while I'm there. I know I can easily do a YELP search when I'm there, but wanted to get some other opinions as well, not just the current foodie hot spot.

Extra points for places in Gilbert, Chandler and Mesa as that's where I'll be at/ near by.

AZ Express News just listed a Top 10 vegetarian/healthful spots on 7/20. Green by far is my favorite but I'll admit I've only been to a few of those listed.
They are:
Bink's Midtown, Fresh Mint, Cafe Lalibela, Green, True Food Kitchen, Loving Hut, Nourish, Udupi Cafe, Persian Garden Cafe and Sage Kitchen.

Several of these restaurants offer "vegetarian" friendly items on their menu but are not actual vegetarian or vegan. www.Happycow.net can help.

Definitely check out menus of restaurants that advertise as "vegetarian or vegan". Bink's serves fois gras. For many vegans - that is wrong on every level, thus eating and spending money there would be unimaginable.

That's our problem, we live far out in the east valley. We usually have to search menus for an option. It's easier for us being just veggies and fish eaters and not vegans as we can eat fish. But, places like Pita Jungle have vegan options.

Would like to hear some east valley spots as well. East Valley would be a great place to open a new vegan eatery.

Cutting Board is on Power south of Baseline. Not sure where you are, but that's pretty far east.

I agree, I would just use it as a guide as some, if not all, of these have websites that offer a menu.
Green is Vegan & so is Nami (pastry & tSoft tServe) next door, although I'm not a fan of the vegan baked goods, I love their tSoynamis!
