Hello, I have been trolling here for a while but I still have questions. I currently live in North/Central Phoenix and want to get out of my 35 y/o ranch house.
I am looking for the best new build community to raise my 2 small children (both under 2), and commute to Downtown and Tempe without going nuts. I need at least a 3 bdr, 2.5 bath with a office/den/guest room all under $250k.
I have been using this to find communities: Arizona Neighborhoods Map In my searching I fell in love with Vistancia, but it is too far for a Tempe commute. Any suggestions of what other communities? Thanks for your help!

My husband's office is in Tempe. His commute is under and hour each way from Surprise (not out in the boonies Surprise, though), but with two small kids, I'm not sure you want a commute that long. I can't name any communities for you, but Litchfield Park would bring your commute down about 15 minutes from there, and it's a good place for kids.

Thanks jco, we are hoping to keep it east of the 303 and south of Bell. Anything farther out may not be doable. Although Cortessa seems nice... Marley park is closer though. What other master planned communities are selling around there now?

I would definitely think about Cortessa. It's beautiful there and if you plan on staying for 5 years or so, the commute will get better. You can probably find a really nice house in the 250k range as well.
